From our signature summer tournaments to our popular quiz evenings, our events are designed to bring members together, whatever your playing level. The Bill Buckland Tournament
The Bill Buckland is the heart of the summer season at Rookwood. More than just a competition, it’s a fantastic way to meet the wider club and enjoy some competitive but friendly tennis over the warmer months.

The Format: Played as a Mixed Doubles competition, the tournament kicks off after Easter and continues throughout the summer.

Round Robin: Pairs play a series of matches within their assigned section. This "friendly" format ensures everyone gets plenty of time on court, regardless of the scoreline.

The Grand Finale: The top pairs move into a knockout stage, culminating in the semi-finals and finals held on our official Club Finals Day.

Who Can Play? The event is open to all adult members of all abilities. Whether you are a seasoned player or relatively new to the club, we encourage you to join in!
The Charity Open
Our Charity Tournament is a highlight of the spring - a fun, inclusive day where the focus is on community, great food, and raising money for a worthy cause.

The Format: This is a one-day social event. Enter as an individual and we’ll pair you up! You'll play several short matches with multiple partners throughout the day. It’s open to all members, regardless of experience.​

Social & Support: It’s a true club day out - friends and family are welcome to cheer from the grounds, join us for shared food, and take part in our charity raffle.​

Rallying for St Wilfrid's Hospice: Building on the success of last year's Angie Portlock Tournament, we are proud to once again dedicate all our fundraising to St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Bring your A-game, enjoy the day, and help us make a real difference for a fantastic local cause.
